This is the newest album from L.A. guitarist Pat Kelley. Pat is a twenty year veteran of the L.A. studio scene, professor of studio jazz guitar at USC, as well as an outstanding jazz guitarist. He is also a gifted composer whose tunes are creatively fresh and memorable. Pat's style as a player is fluid, warm, and always full of energy.

The entire album was recorded live in Pat's Artsong Studio with no fixes or overdubs, creating an energetically fresh sound. The band features John Ferraro on drums, Andy Suzuki on saxophones, Ernest Tibbs on electric bass, and Rob Whitlock on Hammond B3 organ. The songs are all Pat Kelley originals except one standard.

The CD opens with "Jungle Highway", a straight-time tune with the melody played by both the guitar and sax that creates the ambience of something on patrol. Pat plays a wonderful solo over both the straight and swing time. The next cut is a swinging composition titled "Minor Sixth Sense", in which the band all play great solos.

The third tune is a beautiful waltz entitled "Lover's Waltz", followed by a burnin' tune entitled "Rapid Transit". On "Where We Live", the band lays down a great groove with funky solos on bass, guitar, and organ. After the funk, the band moves to a shuffle on "Walkin' With Grace". The band really cooks on the Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn standard "It's You Or No One", before closing the album with the beautiful song for Pat's family, "Mother and daughter".
